Double standards

It's ironic that so many people - parents and friends - have commented about the length of my hair, yet no teacher, not the head of the Arts Faculty, Discipline Head, or even the Principal have said anything. Compassion or indifference? Regardless, my point is to question why is it that males have to keep short hair when females can really, do whatever they want with theirs, with many end up looking like crap anyway? Why is it that people of the same age studying in polytechnics and other institutions can do whatever they want to their hair - besides colouring? How many people; how many friends practice what they preach and not judge books by their covers? What does your outward appearance say about your inner-self? And how does society judge appearances?
Let's just say that I'm conducting an experiment to find these things out, and I don't really care what you think, I'm definitely not going to the barber until the end of next week.

my guy classmate has shoulder length hair, and he twist permed it. another classmate has a mohawk. are you jealous? the freedom we have...

you bet...

it's not that I want long hair, even though I wouldn't mind, the thing is that, we can't have it even if we wanted it. and did you know nyjc even had (and has, I think) a thing against spikey hair? like wth?? we're 18 hello??? but the teachers don't seem to care (much) these days anyway...

once again, I have successfully convinced myself that coming to JC was a wrong choice

enling:

i like you current hairstyle. :)

ally:

whaaaat. not even spikey hair? that's really strange.. cos (if i'm not wrong) other jcs along the guys to spike their hair... or rather, they ignore it when they do. i.e. close one eye or something. and well, yeah i've already told you my so-called "opinions" on this entry yesterday... hmm. but honestly, i too don't really get why poly students can do anything they want with their hair... different culture, maybe? *shrugs* but yep. i've seen my sis's poly classmates(last time) and they had the funkiest styles ever.. lol. it was actually quite interesting. then again it could've been cos they were design students so... you know what design people are supposed to be like :p dressing sense that's out of this world, basically. hahaa. or weird, if you like. but it was still rather interesting to meet them. they're really funny too :) as for how many "friends" actually care only about your inner self... sigh. that, is something, i'm sad to admit, is very few a number. and you normally meet them during your secondary school years. usually your sec3/4 classmates. that's the norm of course. there could be exceptions. and i agree with the females looking like crap part cos i look like crap now!! haha. maybe i ought to go... shave myself bald or something. then i won't even need to worry about my hair at all. humph.

i think you're at war with the jc system. sigh. why not you consider going to an art school/somethingalongthoselines after ns or something? i think it would do you good... no? okay no. maybe not. i have zilch idea what i'm talking about. but yes... back to the friends issue. treasure those who ARE true friends. cos honestly, you're gonna find it hard to find any in the world out there. sucky, but true. :(

we live in a world where innocence is quickly claimed.

my brother is from cee jay ceeeeeee. you should see the hair styles of the guys there. long hair, spikey hair, they have everything. you should try not cutting and combing and washing your hair. natural dreads. damn cool.

enling: how do you know my current hairstyle? ok although the pic on friendster/msn is not very recent it's still quite representative hahaa

frame maker: eh cj... isn't it very strict now? and lol natural dreads eh... that's sick =P

frame maker:

according to my brother, they dont really care about appearance. his hair is dark blue and spikey. some of my hair is actually turning into dreads. i havent combed in ages. its quite cool to wake up and find knots all over. try it. apply honey and anything sticky to speed the process up.

right... you don't comb your hair or you don't wash your hair? lol! it doesn't knot even if you don't comb??

enling:

i can't rmb i either saw it on friendster or your msn pic. haha. yup ur hairstyle then was quite stylish. lol

frame maker:

i havent combed my hair eversince i last cut my hair, which was 10 months ago. i WASH my hair, at least once a day. you have friendster?!?!

whats the difference??? ok nvm im prolly just dumb or something, dont care much about hair anyway, just has to be clean and look good (to me, duh)

and yea i have friendster, why? =P
